I promised a poem`

Here it is...

Election Over!!

The polls are now closed up tight
Marking the end of another election
Of candidates who’ve been trying for the right
To fill a myriad of different positions.

Each precinct reports in as they tabulate
The votes that have been cast
Breaths are held by each and every candidate
As they wait to see who is first and last!

The winners will be celebrating, smiles will abound!
Those aren’t so lucky may be trying to find the key
To the secret of how their campaigns ran a ground?
If they find it, surely next time will guarantee victory!!

Or maybe they will find they are tired from the race
And discover that they are not politics isn’t their legacy.
Putting up signs, shaking hands, a constant smile on their face
Being a private citizen has its rewards, among them privacy.
As Paul says in 2 Timothy (4:7)
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race,
I have kept the faith.”
