Done with the cat

So, I completed cat care and returned the hamster to it's home. Then, my home felt empty so I had to go out and purchase a hamster for us. I'd forgotten how fun it is to have one of those little guys around. We got a boy hamster named "Even" by my son. We don't know why is name is "Even" but it seems to fit him. I wanted to call him Bear Grylls after the Man Vs. Wild guy on Discovery because he looks like a bear. My son vetoed the idea because with all the wildlife that guy eats on his show it is possible if in need he may actually consume a hamster! I figured he had a point!

I fell off my bike a week ago Sunday and got a cut and some bruises. I just picked myself up and moved on. Well then, on the middle of last week it started to bleed again. I thought it was odd but I had to go up north and didn't have time to worry about it. Then, up north I did a ton of walking and it started draining clear fluid (gross, I know). So I got back Saturday and it was really swollen...did break it and not know about it?? I didn't know, so I called up a nurse line and she was nice but advised me to wash it out and put antibotic on it...duh! It's like the computer guy telling me to turn it off and back on again. I could have figured that out...

Anyway, I did wash it again and it didn't help and in fact, it got worse. I finally gave up and went to the doctor yesterday and received a lecture for not coming in sooner. Evidently having bacteria growing in your leg is a bad thing, who knew? So, I got a shot of penicilion on the other side of the moon and was put on a high dose of antibotics and ordered to return to the doctor today for further observation.

On the upside it is improving, on the down side, I HAVE BACTERIA GROWING IN MY LEG!! Gross and double gross! I shower every day and washed the cut out immediately after getting it and covered it with a bandaid that had antibotic built in!

It just seems so odd that a simple cut can develop into something so yucky for lack of a better word and cause so much trouble. The funny part of it is...I tried to get to the doctor over the weekend but my life wouldn't allow me to do it, I was up north then I had to take kids places...and urgent care is open until 6pm. OR I could go to ER and wait 3 hours? Who wouldn't want to do that?? It would be so nice if they would replace some fast food joints on the corners with drive up doctors come on in, have an x-ray, get a strep test and have the bacteria removed from your leg all in less than 30 minutes or it's free!! Okay, I'm rambling and I have to go for my re-check and see if the bacteria has retreated.

Thought you'd want to know.
